Insuring your Roxor?

I used USAA as with my other vehicles. They did not have the Roxor in their data base, but googled it and determined they could give me full coverage for road use. I have it registered in Alabama as a "mini truck." I also low balled the milage estimate as It will not be my primary vehicle. Came out to be about $280 for six months.

I had mine insured with USAA before switching back to Progressive.

I was able to get mine insured through Allstate in California at $475/yr. It’s full coverage with$250,000 and $500,000. I have my deductible at $1,000. Insured for both on and off road.

Last year I couldn't find any company to insure my Roxor except Foremost. This year I was able to go online to Progressive's website. Full coverage, including collision, comprehensive, liability , roadside assistance, (within 100 feet of roadway) I customized mine for some exceptional coverage. $133 a year!!! It could have been as low as $75. Don't know what changed, but that's almost a third of what I was paying. With better coverage. May want to check them out.

Does this coverage include around town street use?

I can't believe how much more I'm paying for my Progressive policy. Mine is $50 per month for full coverage. I have excellent credit and zero accidents. What gives? I also have 2 vehicles on a Progressive auto policy.

Yes, I have Progressive as well. That's about what I pay here in Texas. You have a box to check if it will be insured on road as well as off road. Its a policy mainly for liability coverage which many states require you to have on any atv rov side by side that will be used on state property. Then you just check the box for on road use. I also went with the higher limits of 100/300/100 or something like that.

Yes. Policy is for on and off road. Actually in writing in the policy. That concerned me with Foremost. Never was really sure if I was covered with street use.

To all South Dakota registered Roxor owners, does anyone have an insurance company that indicates or acknowledges that the policy was officially written for on-road use? It does not feel too comforting that some policies are deemed for off-road use while others are lucky enough for on-road use. I would like to know which company is a "sure thing" for on-road use.

I wonder if the initial vehicle registration and classification from the DMV plays a critical role.

Hello Wm, I just got offline with Geico. They will insure my Roxor for the road for $1342.00 per year. And this includes the PIP coverage that the Florda DMV requires us to have. I went into the Geico online site and added the Roxor as a Utility vehicle which the Michigan DMV wrote on the new Title.

Now I just need to bite the bullet and go with it so I can transfer my Roxor from Michigan to here.

Does Michigan let you register the vehicle if your out of state?

They told me that I had to show proof that I bought the Roxor in Michigan. I did the purchase through my business and I had to open an office in Michigan. I used my brother's address as a home office there. The vehicle had to be in Michigan because a Michigan Police Officer had to inspect the vehicle. And, after the initial inspection the DMV inspector had to inspect it and put the new VIN number on it.

They used a new VIN or the serial number on the unit ?

Gabe, my Michigan insurance used a new VIN that Michigan DMV assigned. Now I did get a insurance quote from Geico and now I can transfer my plates to Florida. I need to have the police inspect it again here in Florida and Florida is going to issue a new VIN again. My current quote is using the Michigan assigned VIN so after I get my Florida registration and plate I sure I will need to send the insurance company my new Florida VIN.

So, my road insurance will cost me about $1342.00 per year with our required PIP. And, I do have good driving record.

I think my insurance is about the same with Progressive in Louisiana.
