This might be a decent path. We do need an A-pillar and door solution, however. Also, a windshield solution compatible with both the cage and windshield.

That is correct.

I found this Hard Top installation video and the Hard Top looks almost the same as the link.

I looked over the video. The problem is that it connects to a steel beam that goes up and over the drivers seat that is completely different than the roll bar the roxor uses. It also connects to the fold down window. A great kit would need to include the beam, window, doors, and this hardtop. I'd pay $3K for it if someone would import.

We need to work on importing Thar parts. If you change your search engine to include India, you will find a lot of That parts and information. When you do currency conversions, the That parts are MUCH cheaper than what we are seeing from Roxor dealers. It is true that the Thar uses a "B pillar" and a steel beam over the top. They also have hard full doors, top and windshield that goes with this. There are also aftermarket companies in India that make hard and soft tops for the Thar. I talked to a dealer about this, but need to go further in that they were not up to speed on That parts and whether they could import them.

I need a squared hard top with hard doors like I need oxygen. I hunt in Ms and bought the machine to get thru the mud and stay halfway clean. The best top soft top does not work well in the mud due to the zip doors getting filled with Mud. I have heat and a windshield but the hardtop for the winter mud hunting is a perfect solution. Love my Roxor and she’s a bad dude in the slop.

The best metal hard top I've ever seen for the Thar. I'm sure the US industry is more than equipped for this. This is by R&T Auto Catalyst, a Kerala, India based company. The only thing Roxor lacks is the bolt on B-pillar but it could be easily fabd. Check their page here for more. https://www.facebook.com/RTAutoCatalyst/

Those are very nice, love the flatty, but our Roxors would require a Thar windshield (and ditching the ROPS) to run it I assume, no?

You will get the idea once you have Thar doors in hand. Then the B-pillar and rest of the cab could be built around it. A 76+ CJ windshield could be matched with it. The hardtop you see above isn't bolt on so a full kit import wont be feasible. But everything be much easier if atleast the doors could be sourced. ROPS B-pillar could be trimmed down to just under the roof to keep it solid. It's all up to creativity.

I think that it would easiest to get the Thar windshield, doors, B pillar and cab and then adjust the ROPs as needed. That way the only think that is not a bolt on would be the ROPs modifications if needed.

Yes, I would like a hard top and doors with roll down glass windows!
Same here if the door windows don’t roll down I don’t want it. Some sliders in the back side windows would be nice too.

I would buy a steel half cab in a heart beat!
on the rox fabrication is releasing a metal half cab very soon. It looks awsome and will have an option for sliding side windows. It should be in the 2500 to 3000 range depending on what options you want ( powder coat, sliding side windows ext) they will probaly have pics up next week. Ask to speak to Wyatt and tell him Sonny sent you. They are great to work with.

I talked with them a couple months ago, they said they’d have them by mid December, still waiting!

Manual slider is clearly visible in this pic. These are standard issue Thar doors. Motorised aftermarket kits are available as well.

No roll cage? Will the top support a roll over?

Roll cage is an extra fee option from the fab shop. Stock thar doesn't come with one. The B-pillar could hold a bit. Only those who would actually wheel it or value their life will pay the extra for a proper cage. Something like this below, the skin goes over it.

There is a thread in teambhp which can give lot of ideas. My advice is to fabricate the hard top here it should not be difficult.
Thar Hardtop Design - Team-BHP
I personally recommend avoiding a hard top from india for 3 reasons:
1)Cost of shipping would be more than cost of the top itself around (1100 USD [for the top] )
2) They will not be direct fit and ultimately a B pillar, doors and rops modifications will be required
3) Some of the folks/ companies who make them are not.very professional, its better to get the job done by sitting on top of them rather ordering from them overseas.

Apart from what SandyX shared, a few fabricators who do have an online presence are below
1)Luxmi Thar Modification, Thar Modification, Luxmi Thar Modified, Thar Modification in India, Thar Modification in Dabwali, Thar Modification In Punjab, Thar Modification in Mandi Dabwali, Modified Thar, Modified Thar in Dabwali, Modify Thar, Open Modified Thar, Modified Open Jeeps
2)Sikand car Ludhiana punjab

Someother thoughts I live in Utah, and I visit india often, not sure If i dont have to carry my wife's luggage this time, I will bring the junked MM540 or thar or bolero doors( as long as they are under 50lbs), should not be more than $ 100 and probably will do a giveaway.

I may be wrong but the bolero front doors also looks like direct fit. (I can be wrong on this one)

Knowing what these 'fabricators' make, i would stay more than a fair distance from these fellows. There are many which sprouted seeing the thar hardtop demand but only a very few actually know what they do and hold any professionalism.

The mandi-dabwali-sirsa-moga places are notorious for cutting up jeeps and coming out with contraptions they call jeeps but got nothing to do with jeeps. It's similar to 'owner' and jeepneys of the Philippines which got no link to jeeps anymore.

Only a very few garages actually do the quality work for long lasting metal hardtops.
