It seems the Roxors are based on the 1st gen Thar, not the later IFS ones.

Leaf spring and IFS Thar coexist, introduced together. They both are currently in their 2nd gen. Roxor is based on the 2nd gen leaf spring Thar(m2dicr engine).

This is what 63HP & 176Nm does in a Mahindra Major, the last flat fender to go out of production in the world. Production ceased on October 1, 2010 when it gave way to the Thar. Their chassis & powertrain stays kinda similar till this day. This jeep is located in the state of Kerala which sports a big offroad scene. The Major is not a common presence in recreational offroad scene due to its people-carrier/taxi oriented release but plenty of them could be found in high altitude locations doing last mile duty. The Samurais seen in some of these videos, or Gypsy as it's called in India, are still available brand new made to order.

Not Thar.. dont now where to put it. But This is an old Movie song which shows two types of army spec vehicles which though made in India, but have American connection. Mahindra 550 and Ashok Leyland Stallion(with Ford Cargo Cab). Sorry no subtitles, but shot in great location

Yes as far as I know it has the MDI (DI)and not the common rail Dicr (M2dicr) engine?

Yes m2dicr is essentially the DI block with crdi bits from the crde engine slapped on. So the Major is a Roxor minus crdi tech at its underpinnings.
