I was worried about the ram putting to much pressure on the king pins and knuckle studs when i would hit the steering shop. The ram has so much power it was bending my .25 wall tie rod. I took the ram apart and machined a piece of 6061 aluminum into a internal ram limiter. It was a messy job but I was able to get it done and have been super happy with it.

Got the cutting brake plumbed in. A lot of adapters to get the 3an roxor hardware to the 1/8npt cutting brake back out the the 10x1 brakes using all AN steel braided hose. After testing I really regret mounting the handles as pull instead of push. It takes a lot more pull force then I would have thought to lock up these 4 piston calipers. I also added tension springs because I can’t stand rattles on the trail. I like things to be silent so I can hear when something is wrong.

I also spent way more time then I should have on a brake line mount

It took 2 times but I was able to get glass into my YJ windshield. And later that night I went over to Retro Graphics to meet about the new roxor skins. The next day or so he showed up and made the picture in my head reality.

He was even able to use special vinyl to get the diesel freak logo to light up at night. It’s going to look pretty sweet cruising around the desert at night!

BTW…. Retro Graphics now has a roxor template if anyone wants to do logos or a wrap in their roxor. He can get it done. Pm me for details.

Don't forget to check the weight. If I recall you were very close to the limit for the 4600 class.

I just read through this for the first time and realized I do talk about the build but rarely have posted any photos of this roxor in action. The next several post will be wheeling photos from the last 2 years.

I’ll try to keep them in order new to old.

Awesome pics, one of my favorite is your roxor between the amsoil flags. They are all awesome though.

Back from Moab 2022. Had a great time. Some days where easy wheeling with the entire group (10 Jeeps) some days it was just a few on some harder trails.

Once again I neglected to get good action photos. My wife couldn’t come this time so I have no new YouTube videos either unfortunately.

Steering held up great. No issues. The hydraulic assist made steering effortless all week. Only one issue. At one point my rear locker wouldn’t disengage but after removing the actuator to bench test it, it magically starting working again. I just bolted it back on and didn’t have any more issues.

The cutting brakes where a lot of fun on loose and gravel roads. You can really control the pitch of your drift around the turns when moving fast. Almost felt like having rear steer.
In the rocks there was just too much traction to get full use out of it. I knew this going into the trip though. The cutting brake will be a lot more useful on sloppy wet east coast wheeling where traction isn’t so readily available. A true rear drive disconnect is next so I can really use the full advantage of cutting brakes.

It was very cool wheeling with some of the long travel kit roxors. The green roxor Driven by Chris Beyer even had a similar Toyota axle swap with a bunch of the parts I recut from my build.

It’s always hard to leave a place like that and get back to the daily grind. Good times with good friends.
