I have been building up my Roxor to survive the Rubicon with minimum damage. I think i am almost there and planning an October trip. Would welcome the company if anyone is interested.

Thats a trip Im considering doing next June. Not sure if the logistics will allow it. Main concern is parking areas and getting off the trails and back to my tow rig. Also the trail itself. Let us know how it went. Also any advice on parking and getting back to parking spot would be appreciated. I’m fairly certain Cali wouldn’t like us driving on the road to get to the tow rigs.

My first option is to park the tow rig in Tahoma at S Lake Tahoe and drive the Roxor around to Loon Lake. Plan B is to start at Loon and then double back on the trail. I hope to have the details worked out soon.

My son and I were at Prairie City a few months back.

We’re getting ready for the Rubicon. We still need a lift, skid plates, and lockers.

I recommend the Ceeco full skid plates. I also went with the OX electric lockers with 4.88 gears and so far they have been great. It still crawls a little fast but hoping some one comes out with a low gear set for the transfer case soon.

Yeah, I was looking at both those. I’ll probably order the plates after I finish with the electrical I’m currently working on. Did you order your Roxor with ox lockers or install them after?

The days are here!!! Rubicon Trail bond tomorrow morning at 5am. Couple hour drive to Loon Lake and then make final air down and secure the gear one more time before hitting the trail. Had to change the plans a little. We are not able to go all the way through on this trip. So we will go into Bucks Lake and set up camp. Then wheel around on Saturday, then back out again on Sunday. Excited, nervous, and a little apprehensive. I'm sure everything will be just fine, it's an adventure after all...

Had the most awesome adventure on the Rubicon Trail. Made 5.8 miles from Loon Lake to Buck Island Lake. The weather was perfect. The Roxor out performed some other Jeeps on the trail. Got a few compliments about it as well. If you want a hard core trail with beautiful terrain I highly recommend the Rubicon. I am already planning to do the complete trail next year.
