That skid was damn near IED proof. You took it to the next level. Unbelievably strong now. Dare I say nuke proof?

Picked up a belly skid from Rick and decided I wanted a little more armor so I plated it with 1/4 inch this morning. I’ve been known to ware holes in axles and skid plates in the past...

Okay Max, You sure know how to add a few pounds to the machine. When you are COMPLETELY FINISHED, roll that thing over a scale. I know these start out at like 3400 lbs. I bet your over 4200 pounds by now! That things gonna have a saggin belly like an old glue horse! Lol.

Max,

I see you've taken the OTR Fenders off. Do they not clear with the amount of travel you now have?

They clear fine. I decided I wanted to take it for a test the night before and I hadn’t finished mounting the other side so I took them off. Same with the doors, I didn’t install latches yet and won’t until I know for sure what’s happening with paint. The fenders are on the list for this week.

I'm doing the same this weekend, but I don't have a fancy computer or bender. It'll be a 15" shop saw, and a welder. I'm into Overlanding, so It'll be a swing gate for the spare, with 2, 5 gallon Spectre fuel cans and a cooler mount.

I was also tackled getting seatbelts in. Since I, just going to keep the stock cage for Moab I had to weld in a harness bar. Simple and easy. Rustoluem truck bed liner matches the stock crinkle coat on the cage pretty well.

Looks good Max. You gonna paint it or leave all the bare steel as is?

Correct. That’s part of the reason I needed one. Not for wheelies but for when I stand it on the back climbing rocks. The one on my samurai kept me from rolling over back a few times.... not every time but most of the time.

This was the last time I wheeled without one.

After that time I added this.

We rolled that thing a lot. I remember on that trip my wife got mad at me, not for rolling (she’s use to that), but because I pressed her harness release button without telling her while she was hanging upside down.... we laugh at it now but man she was mad when that harness opened up lol.
