Two hammers But sometimes one works. Leave castle nut on very loosely. Put one hammer on the side of the joint as a backup. Not always needed. Then take the other hammer and smack the side of the joint. The side not the threaded Portion where the castle nut screws on. Hitting the side of the joint sends a harmonic vibration inside it that loosens it. The joint will just fall out. The nuts will catch it sit doesn’t come out uncontrolled.I need help with the install of The Cure.
After I remove the castle nut, how do I separate the joint? There is no room to pound it out (e.g. thread nut loosley and give it a couple taps with a hammer).
Thanks in advance for the advise on separating the joint.
