Guys:
I changed out to Bilsteins combined with a shackle lift.

I am running 33-185590 in front valved 700/2550

33-230443 in back valved 575/1600

I have another pair of 33-185590 in the garage possibly for the rear.

My issue is this: the ride from the front axle is reasonable when hitting a bump, the back axle is jarring. I am pressed for time so I haven't had time to experiment with switch out the 33-230443's to 33-185590's. I am about to go on some big rides starting tomorrow and was wondering if someone knew the answer already, would I be better off with the 33-230443's or the 33-185590's. If you think the 590's are better I will make the time to change them out.

Thoughts?

Sounds very stiff for such a light vehicle on leaf springs. Unless you're planning on doing high speed desert off roading, that's going to feel like a cement truck on trails. My valving in the rear is 170/60. Fronts will be 255/70.

scratch that. Looking up your part numbers, for the front, they're 255/70. I couldn't find the valving for your rears. The valving numbers you used are not familiar to me. What you likely need is a 170/60 in the rear, and/or/maybe a different shackle design. A shackle with a steep curve to it is going to give a better ride than the straight shackles.

Our resident expert Max should be able to give some better info than I can. Hopefully he will chime in here

Throw a bin in the back, filled with sand , about 150-200 pounds. It makes a difference. I'm hoping a storage box and spare tire. Will be similar weight. I think the rear springs are too stiff without the added weight. I might try cutting the bottom leaf to softem it up, if it still bucks after the tire and box. Somebody on one of the forums said that helped.
