I do still have my 3.73 gears and carriers. They’ve been in the barn and are dusty. I’m sure the bearings need to be either swapped or cleaned really well as they are contaminated from dust and dirt laying in there. i can pack them up but can’t guarantee what pinion went to which ring gear nor can I guarantee the gears won’t get chipped in transit. Ideally they’d be shipped off the carrier and in styrofoam formed container inside of a box.

that said what tire size will you end up at? I’m on 33s and 4.88s. Kinda wish I did 5:13’s instead for a little more crawl and better when I do 35s. But it’s close enough to really not matter much. If your gonna be on 33s or 35s then I’d just try what you already have. If your staying stock then it might make sense to swap gears.

Looking to buy
OK guys I have a 2022 Roxor with stock tires and wheels. I have a Stage 1 tune with 538 gears. My Speedometer is pretty close to correct. At about 2600 I am running 55mph. Around 2800 I am running about 60. My Roxor is comfortable between 55 and 60. Of course my Speedometer pegs out at 60 so I cant tell you how fast it will run after that.

Just as an fyi for those looking at 3:73 I have an 18 with 3:73 and 33” tires and 2400 is 73 mph on my gps app. I do a lot of highway and around town, have just over 8000 miles and this set up is pretty good for my uses.

I'm thinking about 38's from a military surplus store. I don't do rock climbing or hard core mudding. Right now, my 5:38 gears with stock BFG's looks like 3000 rpm @ 60mph.

This is old post but good post. Have the 2024 with 5.38 and going to run for a bit to see how it does. There is no tune yet available. With my 32" tires it does around 55 top speed. Just from driving it around and putting into Low some it seems that the gear ratio should of been somewhere between the 3.73 and 5.38. It does have a low and in first its like 1mph.

3.73 is to high for even the 29” stock tires IMO. Always feathering the clutch when driving in the pasture. 4.10s would have been a better choice. I went 4.88s and 33s and it’s much better on/off road than the stock setup, gear ratio wise.

Hello P,

I am from Michigan originally and had my Roxor licensed there so I could license it here in Florida. I have the stock 5.38 gears. With the info below I run @ 2400 RPM at 60 MPH. I just took a spin around the block because I put the 1.5 inch shackle lift on the front and the 1 inch shackle lift on the back.

I was trying to keep my costs down and be able to lower my RPMs while on the street so I went with the Pro Armor Crawler XG tire. I wanted to keep my stock rims and I put the 35 x 10 x R16 XG tires on. I paid $1700.00 for 5 tires and a new spare rim. The tires were $299.95 each with no shipping. I found them for $245.00 each but you had to wait for them and pay shipping. They are 40 lbs and come out right at 35 inches high. These tires have a 50 MPH speed rating.

With the tread spacing I thought they would be quite noisy but they only put out a high pitched hum the faster you go on pavement. I have not been off road with them yet because I am still doing work on the Roxor.

Pro Armor does offer a XR version which is more for rocks and they are lighter and have a softer tread compound with less tread depth.

I also have the Diesel Freak Stage II Tune with the selector switch. That little backflow valve makes quite a bit of difference also.

Hopefully Wade can figure out the new motors so we can get a tune for them. I hate that they are capable of so much more but are limited by the computer.

I have a new 2024, with 5.38's. I have 235/85R16's on it.
I keep it between 40 and 45 MPH on the Speedometer on Pavement. Add 10% for the Taller Tire's and that would be 45 - 50 MPH. I had someone follow me the other day and he said I was doing 52 on his speedometer, I was holding Rocky at 45 MPH on my Speedometer.
I plan on Rocky lasting a very long time. I will keep my speedometer at 45 MPH and below on pavement.
If one needs to go faster than 50 MPH, the best plan would be a gear swap.
For where I drive and what I do with Rocky the 5.38 Gears work just fine.
Probably perfect would be a gear set between 4.11 and 4.33 with my tire size.

USMC those are some good looking tires.
