Hey everyone, I just installed dual exhaust on my Roxor, the kit I used came from Diesel Freak. After installing the complete exhaust I noticed my left driver side pipe is less than a inch from my gas tank, and the exhaust pipe on the passenger side is as well less than a inch from the gas tank. Is this enough clearance between the exhaust and gas tank?

Thank you for your time and consideration

My best guess would be that 1" Clearance is not a problem.
With fuel moving around in the inside of the tank, I doubt the fuel tank would get very warm close to the exhaust if you checked it with a temperature reading device.

Thank you for your input on my question, I finally got it taken care of. I was 1mm away from the tank, but now I'm about .5 inches away

My exhaust actually contacts the tank skid at times such as start up/shut down. Your fine. I’d only really get concerned if it was blowing out onto the tank. I doubt the exhaust gets hot enough to do anything to the tank as long as it’s hitting the tank skid and not the tank itself.

A lot of folks would wrap the exhaust pipe but that invites rust. You can get small sheets of heat reflective material to place between the exhaust and tank if you have any concerns.
If it were gas, I might think about it but with diesel, nah. Can't even light diesel with a match. Only concern I would have would be higher pressure in the tank but if vented correctly, shouldn't be an issue.

So long as it's not touching and rubbing a hole in the tank, that's all that matters. If there's no rub marks or shiny spots on the tank, you're good to go. If there were shiny spots, then you're touching probably when accelerating and creating torque. Like Busted Knuckles said, you can hold a match to diesel and it won't light.

Heck, the military, they pump raw diesel right into the hot exhaust of vehicles to create that thick white smoke screen. I wonder if a Roxor gets hot enough to do that? Make a James Bond 007 Roxor spy vehicle, or maybe just to drive the mosquitos away in the summer.
