I’m interested in adding a PTO and hydraulic 3 point hitch for a bush hog. Has anyone tried this yet? Any ideas what I would need to do? Thank you!

I am guessing you tried to do this already and it is a for sure “no go”? is there just nothing in there so am wondering why the access point?

A fellow Roxor owner in Montana owns a company called Torque King. He is "the guy" for Roxor running gear. He has plans to make it work, but as the transmission sits now, a PTO will not engage.

Thank you for replying to my questions. I would be interested in letting the ”Torque King” know of my hopes for his successful venture. Perhaps he monitors this website?

Regardless, I appreciate your reply and will continue to hope for a method.

Best regards,

Greg

He does monitor...

It isn't on the front burner right now, but it's not on the back either. However, this is an industrial stove so there is a line moving to the front burner.

Currently we are working to establish mechanical part availability. Half of my current tasks are trying to source parts for customer rebuilds. LOL! If I can get a little ahead again we will work on our various exclusive upgrades, including this one.

You just had some personal time off. Working on it again so soon?

3 point hitch available for ATV, monts in 2 inch receiver hitch. Titan or Amazon. rc

Why not an engine driven hydraulic pump and a hydraulicly driven P.T.O.? Could also run a hitch mounted log splitter. Just a thought.

Definately an option, but there are limitations. Only so much HP can be transferred by a V belt, and if you have AC there is VERY limited space to add a pump. I have entertained redecorating everything for a serpentine belt to allow the option for all engine driven accessories but it would still get pretty tight up front.

If a guy had a non-AC unit and a low HP fluid requirement, an engine pump could definitely be added. In the case of a log splitter, you would have to pair the pump flow, pulley diameter, and cylinder diameter just right to not have belt slip, but the operation cycle may be pretty slow.

Ideally someone with a hydraulic shop that sells pumps and pulleys should take a weekend testing different configurations to see what the output possibilities are. Most good pumps have charts to help figure the numbers but I don't have all the equipment to test what actually works and what doesn't.

In the end it is a very good idea but with limitations.

For the price of a log splitter that has it''s own engine that you can tow or put in the trailer to take to the woodlot or even pull it behind the trailer as you move the setup to the woodpile it sure would be a lot less fuel and wear and tear on the roxor.
Pto's are primarily for winching, but there are times when an electric winch wins as they are just used in an emergency. I haven't used mine except for pulling others out lol.
Secret to electric winches is to have an extra strap and pulley. In a hard pull two parting the line and stripping line down so the winch is not as full it pulls harder and is easier on the winch.

After sitting on this for a while it occurred to me that putting a hyd unit driven off the crankshaft would be the answer. Would have to have a cooling unit in front of the radiator though, but would put out good flow. Hummers use the powersteering pump for the milemarker winch. For decent output though a larger pump and direct positive drive is needed. To me though, the effort and money sunk into pto and the valves, hoses, hyd tank and the rest of it outweighs electric winches or stand alone splitters.
