Has anyone taken the glass out of their hardcabs doors? I like the doors but I dislike the windows. Especially as summer approaches.

I’m guessing if I remove only the lower channel then the glass can be removed. I’m hoping there is a way I can make it where I could take it in and out with little effort after I figure some latch mechanism to hold the channel back in place.

My thought is to remove the glass and therefore have mostly half doors. The height of them without the glass is a good arm rest height.

I also think with some engineering a canvass style window using snaps as attachment could be configured as an optional window to snap in if you’re caught out in a storm.

Take it to a auto shop that specializes in automotive grade glass, and pick their brain. Anything is possible with the roxor, question is how creative, patient, and deep is your wallet? (Rhetorical question)

Love the Roxor! I have the same color with the same hardcab and have been looking for the same solution. I considered the half doors but the hardcab tube doors seem not what I'm looking for. It never crossed my mind about removing the door glass. I'm glad you asked the question. If you do end up removing the glass please post some tips or instructions... I would greatly appreciate it.

I think I’ve figured how to get the glass out but now I’m trying to find a latch system I like for remounting the glass. Something like these:

Ok. I removed the glass. For better or worse I did it. I removed the bottom track that the glass slides in.

1- remove the rubber seal from under the part of the window that slides.
2- then you will see 2 screws that hold the track in place. Drill the screws out. Mine would not back out so I had to drill/cut them.
3- use a razor knife to cut the silicone from all around the bottom track
4-the glass section that is stationary is also siliconed so cut it free and then slide it forward to the center of the door. Slide the front glass section to the cerebral as well. This allows your helper to hold the glass while you work the track.
5- slowly and gently start prying the track out. It slides towards the interior.
6-tada! No windows!
*** Continued for a removable option for rainy days***

I know for when it rains I wanted an option so the easiest I have come up with is a plexiglass option.
1- Trace out onto the plexiglass from your now removed hardcabs glass. I made them the exact same size.
2- Reinstall the bottom track. I ran one long strip of black gorilla tape to hold it back in place.
3- The plexiglass has a slight ability to bend so it enables you to put it in and out while leaving the track in place.

When not in use they should fit right behind the seat.

You can use the original glass and with two people slide the track and glass together at the same time back in place but that’s asking for trouble. Because eventually someone’s gonna drop it and it’ll break. Come winter time I might actually put the glass back it place and run a bead of silicone to seal it better for the cold weather. It’ll be easy enough to take it in and out now that the screws are gone.

You made an awesome guide! Thank you for taking the time! I think I’ll attempt next weekend. The plexiglass was a great solution. My wife has been a little apprehensive when I mentioned that I was gonna take the glass out. She kept mentioning the rain… I told her we live in NM and it doesn’t rain here but that was of no comfort. She’ll appreciate the plexiglass I whip out from behind the seat if we get caught in the annual 10 minute rain storm. Thanks again!

It’s monsooning today and they worked perfectly. One additional change I made was to reverse the order of glass in the door. This way the outside sheet is the furthest forward and not making an air scoop funneling air or rain into the cab.

An unexpected benefit is that now the piece of glass that you open and close is the rear most piece. So when it’s open now you can rest your arm with elbow comfortably out the window!

If the glass came from the factory reversed like this I think it would be much better.
