Climax Offroad Long Travel Suspension Kits

Well I put on a Skyjacker 2.5FS spring

Here are the comparisons to the RE1430

They are both 2.5in left springs in theory

The ride hieght is 1.25inches lower with tge SkyJacker
The axle droop decreased from 9.75inches to 9.25inches from bumpstop to axle

Compression is about the same
My son feels the ride is a little stiffer w the SkyJacker

I am running 33’s and the axle band on the SkyJacker hits the lugs on the tire corner unfortunately, now I need to relocaTe that or adjust the turning limits

Now I need to decide if I go with the lower ride height or try the SkyJacker 4” rock ready to get theoretically 1/4inch higher that where I was

What do you guys think?

Hi all,

I'm finally getting around to installing my long travel kit. I'm using Skyjacker 2.5 rock ready springs and was wondering if anyone knows in advance whether I need to pull the wedge shim out of the stock leaf pack and re-use it, or if pinion angle will be good without it.

Or will I just need to put everything together and measure for the correct shim after assembled? Btw, I do flat tow this rig so I may need to shim for caster angle at the end anyways.

Thanks

What part number springs did you order? I don’t believe the rock ready springs come with a wedge front or rear. Either way if they do have a wedge you’ll want to remove them . No correction is necessary.

The difference in the front and rear rock ready springs is the arch. The rear springs have slightly less arch resulting in closer to a 1.5 inch lift or 4 inches overall. Great for 33 inch tires, 35s with a On The Rox fender kit.

Not to be that know it all guy

But

I have been in touch w Skyjacker regarding their 4” rock ready

The free arch is 8.75 in front, 7.625 rear
The spring rate is 220lb/in ft 260lb/in rear
The rears come with a 1degree wedge

The free arch on the RE1430 2.5” matches the rear Rock Ready 4”

The free arch on front 2.5” rock ready is about 1.25” less than the RE1430

Idk if the rear 2.5” rock ready have a wedge

Tech support is very responsive at Skyjacker

That's great info to know! And yes skyjacker is a rare breed these days, real customer support!

My post above was specifically taking about the 2.5 inch lift springs. The set I recently received did not have a wedge. All done, the Roxor with a full set of rear springs sat about 1 inch lower then the Roxors I've done in the past with the RR 2.5 fronts.
