Noticed rust starting to weep from around the tailgate hinges. Took one hinge off at the tailgate side and found there is bare steel behind the hinge. I coated with Tremcoat and did the same with the other hinge. It seems the hinges were installed on the tailgate and then the tailgate was painted. Appears to be paint behind the hinges where they attach to the body.
