Hi guys, I’ve spoke to a few dealers and a few specialists and have yet to find any stories of successfully titling a Roxor as a road-legal vehicle in Ohio. The first dealership hinted that it could be done without saying too much and Dirt Legal said they will be attempting an Ohio title for the first time in a month or so. I can certainly wait patiently to see how this plays out but I’d sure love it if someone could give me an answer right about... now lol!

But seriously, has anyone succeeded in registering one as a full on auto, a mini truck, or anything else in this special place we call Ohio?

Thanks!
Chris

Yes, my dealership sold one to a guy near me who now drives it legally on the roads. Furthermore, you can make it “street legal” in all 50 states..

How did he register it? And as what type of vehicle? Did he use a title service such as Dirt Legal?

Did he refit to make it street legal it himself? If not what upfitting service did he use?

What county was it inspected in for road legality if titled as something other than a regular car/truck?

I still have lots more questions than answers. All I keep getting is word someone did something somewhere with zero information as to how. :/

Edit: Seriously though, if someone shows me a legal pathway to title and register a Roxor so as to be legal to drive on roads and highways in the state of Ohio, I will go buy one this week. It is the perfect commuter vehicle for my needs and is also affordable to me. It’s a shame that such a nice NEW vehicle is restricted in its use where as the unkempt rusty framed old Jeeps around here are not.

I’ll take that as a hard no. It appears no one has any useful information.

Really disappointing. It’s time to upgrade my DD and I’d much rather employ a Roxor than one of the FCA dumpster fires currently bearing the Jeep name.

I'm also in the Dayton Area. I called the local BMV over in Xenia and the manager pretty much regurgitated the BMV policy to me. State of Ohio BMV hope it helps. Overall the gist I got was as long as local law enforcement agrees it meets the street-legal requirements your golden, It seems pretty cut and dry. My next stop is to the local law enforcement to discuss their inspection process in detail with them. id like to be cruising in one by summer. ill keep yall up to date with my progress.

I live in Summit County (Akron Area) and was able to get my Roxor street legal as a UTV. I called the Summit County Sheriff's office and a well informed Deputy told me they are allowed in my County and how to get it legal. It starts with form DPS1373, meet the requirements on the form, then have your law enforcement agency inspect the vehicle and sign off on the form. Take the form to the Clerk of Courts with your current title. Sign a Body change Affidavit, from AT to a UTV, and you are issued a new title(Off Road Only is gone on new title). Take the new title to the BMV and get your full size regular automotive plates. Make yourself aware of laws and limitations pertaining to these type of vehicles. Check with your local law enforcement agency first if your County allows them.
