Looking to buy
Hello all. Joined here because the roxor is an amazing little rig. Seems to fit right between several other items available on the market and can fulfill some of our needs on our WV ranch/tract.

My big question is: Can you tune the newer Roxors (after 2022)? I have a line on a 2023 base model for $16k but am hesistant to pull the trigger without being able to tune the rig, increase HP, top speed, etc. We will be using this thing for runs into town, etc and tuning will maximize our ability to utilize the Roxor.

FWIW, the dealer that has the unit said that "they" (the aftermarket) are working on getting tuning together on the new models but he didn't know specifics ;)

Thanks and good to meet you.🍻

"They" have been working on it for a couple years already. However, this level of encryption is higher than OEM's have used before. Old units could be "Brute Forced" to gain acess and tune. That method does not work on the newer units. A whole new process has to be used. One they haven't figured out yet. Someday they will, but if it's anything like the encryption the 2022 and newer Cummins has, they've been trying to crack that for 3 years now and nothing close is available. The only advantage there is, if you're willing to pay for a new 2021/older ECU, you can make tuning work like the older units. But since the 2023 and newer Roxors went to the 2.7L, I don't think that is even an option to try.

no tunes yet on the 2.7 as noted above. If you just have one with a tune then you’re limited to the 2.5 Roxors. Plenty on the market but many are priced the same as new ones. I’ve noticed any Roxor priced 14 and under doesn’t stay on the market long. The guys pricing 18 and above still have them.

The Tune will not do a 2.7 nearly as much good as the 3.73 Geared older 2.5 Roxor's. The issue is the 5.38 Gears and the Maximum Engine RPM's. My 2024 will hit the Rev Limiter in 5th Gear on flat ground. It will only go so fast due to the gears. The older 3.73 Geared Roxor's ran out of power way before the 5th Gear RPM's were close to maximum. Bumping the Horse Power up did them a lot of good. After The Tune you could run them a lot faster in 5th Gear on the highway.
The Tune will also help a new 2.7. More Power is always a good thing, until you start breaking parts. I am sure that I will get The Tune when it is available. Just do not count on any more Top Speed without a gear change.

At this time you can change to Taller Tires and gain some speed. I put 235/85R16 M&S 10 Ply Tires on mine first thing. I believe that USMC has even taller 35's on his machine. The tall tires just do not show up on the speedometer. I normally keep my machine under 45 MPH on the speedometer on Black Top. I had someone follow me home the other day on the highway. He said I was running lower 50's. I keep my Roxor off main highways most of the time. On Farm to Market Roads here in Missouri I never get passed.
If you need to drive on a 65mph highway with any traffic to speak of, you will not be happy with a new 2.7. Find a low mileage 2.5 like the one USMC told you about.

Good Luck
