EGR delete with tune and nipple breaking off when pulling stock boost valve

My dad and I were removing the boost valve when the black nipple inside the wastegate popped off with it. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Also, is it mandatory to do an EGR delete after installing a tune?

We have seen that happen before if you do not use a razor blade to carefully slice the hose for easy removal.

We used a 3/16" brake lined with some epoxy for this repair.
