Im in the market for a roxor windshield and am stuck between Dirt Warrior and Diesel Freak. Does anyone have experience and can give a review or advice on which I should go with?
there is movement with the windshield? could you please explainI travel highway speeds in Montana and have the diesel freak windshield. It's strong, but has a lot of movement. I love the way it minimalizes the blind spots, and so far have been nothing but impressed. I haven't gotten a chip in it yet so I guess time will tell. I really like the fact that it can be replaced without professional assistance, and for about $100
The frame and glass in the center directly above the vent flex at higher speeds, usually 70+ mph. High winds can make it happen around 55-60 mph. It's enough that I was nervous about it my first couple trips. It's hard to get a good observation, but I think it's probably about an inch of overall travel in and out. I have driven quite a few hours over 70 with it now and it doesn't really concern me anymore. I do believe if a stone chip happens it will crack quickly because of the amount of the amount of flex.there is movement with the windshield? could you please explain
thank you for this info, I now decided to go with Fortress windshield, as I want no wiggle roomThe frame and glass in the center directly above the vent flex at higher speeds, usually 70+ mph. I looked at their fixed windsheild while I was shopping. My vehicles go through windsheilds almost as fast as fuel. If I remember correctly the glass wasn't an off the shelf replacement, but something you would have to buy through fortress or have a glass shop cut. The biggest driving factor for me getting the diesel freak one is that it uses jeep glass that is cheap and readily available. I am also blown away by the customer service diesel freak always provides, so I do my best to give them my business whenever possible.thank you for this info, I now decided to go with Fortress windshield, as I want no wiggle room
Why does your vehicle go through so many windshields?I looked at their fixed windsheild while I was shopping. My vehicles go through windsheilds almost as fast as fuel. Lots of highways that intersect with gravel roads, and dump trucks that are too lazy to tarp their loads. Lots of debris getting kicked up by other vehicles. So far I've had the new windshield on the roxor for about a year and I've somehow managed to avoid damage. My other 2 vehicles had new windsheilds 2 summers ago and have more chips than I care to count and a few small cracks. It seems like every time I've replaced a windshield I get the first chip within a week. Why does your vehicle go through so many windshields?
Called fortress shop, they say the windo replacement is 200 dollars should it break or crack, or you can take it to a local glass shop to hook you up with a new windshieldLots of highways that intersect with gravel roads, and dump trucks that are too lazy to tarp their loads. I ordered a cj windshield and frame, bolted it on with wipers. Some of the holes lined right up some need a bit of coercing. Is nice to have a folding one. Is solid with no flexing.
