I am assuming that it is going to be not possible to tune the newer Roxor's with the 2.7L Diesel. Has anyone heard anything latley ? I guess that can't access the system.

The best people to reach out to would be Diesel Freaks. They are great people and know the Roxor in and out.

Last I heard Wade at Diesel Freaks was working on it. I don't know if that nut can be cracked, though.

Yes. I have discussed with Wade and big supporter of Diesel Freaks. I am thinking it can't be cracked. He has been working on it so maybe one day. The 2.7 could really use so added hp in my opinion.

The encryption they use now can't be cracked by the old brute-force methods they used on the older units. This one's gonna take some magic to be cracked, if at all. I'm sure someone will figure it out someday, but it's gonna take a new approach for sure.

Looking to buy
Crazy thought here, but what would happen if you threw on a tuned 2.5 computer on a 2.7? Might need to swap some plugs, but it would be fun to try and see what happens.

Honestly I’d be surprised if Wade doesn’t already know how to tune them but the idiots at the EPA have already targeted him and I doubt he’s going to risk his business to get the tuning done. It’s absolutely possible. They’re already tuning the new trucks and they’re a lot more difficult than the Roxor.

Looks like the new administration is going to scrap the climate studies from years ago to use as a basis for EPA regulation. It should allow "breathing" room for manufacturers and aftermarket companies. We will see, but I expect it to take some time for new rules to come out.

Why stay with that new electronic crap at all...Never give in to any of the government/communist forced mandates...engine swap with one that you can do what ever you want...I was surprised how quickly that 2.7 liter piece of crap sold.
Either that or keep doing what you are doing...wait, then wait some more.

Wow. You pulled the 2.7 and sold it? What you replace it with? That is hardcore!

A QUESTION how much good will THE TUNE do when the 2.7 machine has 5.38 Gears???
You can Red Line a stock 2.7 in Fifth Gear with no problem at all. I seriously doubt that reving past the Red Line is a good plan at all.
The 2.5 with 3.73 gears can use the Boost in Horse Power to go faster in high gear on the road. You run low on power way before you rev it out going up hill on the highway.
The only way I see a 5.38 geared machine benefiting from THE TUNE would be with very Tall Tires.

My 2024 machine runs just fine in stock trim. I see no need for more power without a change in gears or taller tires so that it will run faster. My machine with 245/85R16 tires will run 50 on the highway. That is as fast as I need to go. I am also planning on my Roxor lasting a very long time. I have no plans of tearing it up doing stupid things with it.

Bob has a great point, That's why I changed gear ratio's in mine to 4.88's with 35" tires. 5.38's and stock tires may rev quicker with a tune, but you want more gear, definitely. Just from what I've figured, a few nice ratiio combos are:
4.10 with 33" tires
4.88 with 35" tires, recommend upgrades axle shafts
5.13 with 37" tires, Defintely should have upgraded axle shafts

Just rough math, these combos all yield about ~20% less rpm than the factory 5.38 with ~31" tire. It's easy to fall down the rabbit hole after a tune, I'm proof of that LOL!
Hope that helps....(y)

Longslyde with how I use my Roxor the perfect gear and tire combination would be 4.10 and 33's. I can live with the 5.38's, but if I could have ordered it out like I wanted it, it would have had 4.10's installed.

My Jeep Wrangler MOAB has the exact opposite issue, 3.21 gears and 32's. It would also have 3.73 or 4.10 gears if it were perfect. Jeep worry's way to much about gas mileage numbers over useability. If the Dealer who ordered it had any interest in off road use it would have been ordered out with the HD Tow Package and then it would have had 3.73's, Not perfect, but an improvement.

I am happy with my 5.38 gear with 35x10x16 tires. I run 2000 - 2400 RPM at 50 - 55 mph. I have not taken it on the highway but I really don't plan to unless I just do a short stint to see how it runs around 70. It has been run up to 60 for about 8 mile stretches multiple times and runs smooth with good torque. I do have the Tune on mine.

Also, I never run 1st gear. I need to get it into the mud to use 1st. Plus in 2nd gear the rocks and dirt fly when I take off.

USMC I guess that is one of my points. Its like the the current setup the gearing is not ideal. I guess I would just like more separtation between Low and Hi gears. The Hi still seems not ideal as you burn thru the first 3 gears. I ride mine at my cabin off road in the hills and keep mostly in Low 4wd, but around town it is fine but seems it could be a bit quicker even if the max speed didn't improve much.

I really just depends on how you use it. If highway is not a concern, I think the gearing is fine. I may, hypothetically, illegally run the Roxor down the highway a few miles to my hunt camp. I want to get off the highway quickly before officer friendly sees me, so I run it at 50 mph with the stock tires. Running it around the farm, the gearing is perfect. I think the best work around is installing a taller tire.

Yes Long, I think the tire change alone worked great. I just did the tune because I had $600.00 laying around (NOT). Even with the Tune turned down to "stock" setting the 2.5 puts out nice torque.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money making it street-able so I stayed with the stock rims. It took me awhile to find the Pro Crawler tires to fit the rims.

Sorry for forgetting additional information. I did the Tune to get rid of the RPM Limiter.
