I’m looking for a 180-190 thermostat, I ran it 10 miles and then put a candy thermometer in the radiator, it was at 137’, running a diesel this cool will cause extreme carbon buildup and I’m in Wisconsin and would like to get some heat in the cab! I’m a retired diesel mechanic and everything runs at least 185. I’ve covered the grill but still don’t get the heat I need. I know that IH used this engine in some tractors years ago with a joint venture with Mahindra, I guess I’ll start checking parts stores but I thought maybe someone on here would have a part number or knowledge on this subject. Thanks

You’re probably better off converting to an electric fan. The factory fan spins all the time as there’s no fan clutch.

i was thinking the same thing about the electric fan,I alway swaped them out on my jeeps if it was the inline 6 made it run alot smoother and you can controll when it comes on allowing it to heat up alot quicker
