Yesterday while I was my local Mahindra dealership (in India), I was discussing about the communication issues while trying to diagnose the 2023 and later models. The tech had told me they dont use the older Garuda scan tool interface and then showed me the Bosch MTS 6534 (GVCI-MX) interface along with the ISmart software.

Would be nice to know what protocol the Roxor is using. The tool you referenced shows many protocols like many scan tools I already have.

They say a KlavKarr 210 works for Roxor. They show 2018..., So I assume that may be all. They do not state what the protocol is that is used. Each protocol has its own pinout that is used in the connector.

I have tried two different diesel scan tools that are both capable of the different protocols. The OP may have found the right tool, but without the correct software to go along with it, we are still out of luck.
I have found one web site describing the tool as obsolete back in 2024.
I have found a place that can write to the MD1CS1624 but it needs to be on the bench and a security module.

Mercedes uses the MD1CS162 in 4 of their models. Someone says they have cracked the code and they will only do it on the bench because they don't want anyone else stealing their work. You must send them your ECU. No Idea of the cost. They actually unlock it so that the user can do what they want with it.

I just received this email from Mahindra regarding the Scan Protocol:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting MAgNA.

There is not a protocol that will work on Roxor with scanner.

Ony dealer will have licensed software to interface.

That is a bunch of crap for MAgNA to hold us hostage. We should be able to maintain our own vehicles and equipment. The cost of having the same ecu unlocked for the Mercedes is about $5-600. One day it will be more affordable to try sending one of ours in to be unlocked.

Ok, I sent a new question to Mahindra and this is it:

Hello Darren,

I am just asking what the protocol that is being used for the OB2D. Are you not following SAE or ISO protocols for the OB2D or are you using a proprietary protocol. Aren't the requirements you follow meant to meet some standards?

They are aware of the FTC lawsuit with John Deere,( off road equipment) and the classaction lawsuit farmers vs John Deere? The DOJ is pursuing action related to the same as of 2/28/ 2025.

I wrote Mahindra and filed a complaint in my state of Georgia. I think it is a State Senator in Florida( Tallahassee) is running the show for the FTC suit.

Ok, a new email to Mahindra from me:

Darren,

Do you realize how strong the Roxor Nation is in the United States? And now Mahindra itself is restricting Roxor owners from the ability to maintain their Roxors on their own?

Mahindra should really rethink their position on this. And yes, I am aware of the political and economic issues involved.

Are you aware that most Roxor owners in the U.S. know more about their Roxors then the distributors know?

I also asked Mahindra about any new Roxor news and about the rumors of the Thar Roxx possibly coming to the U.S.

I also asked Darren what Roxor Forum he was talking about.

If I was 300 miles from a Mahindra dealer and I had a check engine light, I would be pissed having to drag the thing the 600 mile round trip to see what the issue is.

Does anyone have access to a bosch scan tool? Would be interesting to see how it communicates with the roxor ECU.
