I thought I would share my thoughts on a Locker.
First off I had a Torque Locker installed in the rear end of my 2024 Roxor. I drive the Roxor on Trails, Gravel Roads, Black Top Roads, as well as in Town on nice asphalt streets quite a bit. What I have observed is that a locker works well in Fields, and on Dirt and Gravel. Places where you have a little more give in the driving surface. The Locker is not for driving in town on Asphalt. In Town you can manage to coast around some corners with the the Locker going Clickity Click. The issue is when you need to make a turn under power. You will get a very annoying Bang Sound I am sure caused by the locker jumping cogs while locked up. I thought it would break in, and stop making the noise. WRONG.

Well due to the Axle Spacer dropping out while installing the Locker. I ended up with the Roxor back in the shop with a Wheel Bearing out. The mechanic decided that all the Rear End Bearings needed changed. All new Timken Bearings are presently on order from Torque King. I am having the Locker removed while putting new bearings in the rear end. I wish that I had figured this out before spending Hundreds of Dollars on the install.
My advice is, if you drive in Town on Asphalt much at all, skip adding a locker.

I use a Detroit locker in the rear. He gives more traction then the open diff but not as much as the lunchbox locker. I have the lunch box in the front with hub lockers

I will go with a locking differential in rear. Only thought I needed it once over weekend.

Gabe did you decide to go ahead and install the OX Locker that you purchased?

I returned the original one for credit. Diesel Freak took care of me on that. I wanted to run it first for a bit prior to installing.

Looking to buy
I have Spartan Lockers Front and Rear. Here is my advice. Install Lockers Front only unless you can get the Ox Lockers for the Rear that disengage.

That’s an incorrect description. Both lockers give the same amount of traction. It’s not like a limited slip that allows some slippage to occur. The axles are locked up 100% or only one like an open diff. I believe what you meant was that the Detroit engages smoother/softer than the ratcheting lock up of the lunch box locker.

It’s like a limited slip. If one tire is in the air on the rear it will just spin that tire. But it it’s got a little bit of resistance then it will spin both. When it starts spinning in the rear with one tire I pull the emergency brake and both start spinning.

I was hoping somebody on this site had an LSD in the rear; specifically the one below:

Interesting. Looks pretty good. But I am probably just going to go with OX locker and then just lock when I need it. I do that with my mule and it works perfectly.

I have a Spartan that I will be putting in the rear of my ‘24. After driving many miles on all road types with a Detrit in the rear of both a CJ7 and a TJ, I can say that a ratcheting locker does have some quirks to get used to - especially if you are running lower tire pressure, but the leave sprung CJ was not too bad. Hoping for the same with the Roxor.
