Out for a winter ride. Usually have a few feet of snow here this time of year so I am taking advantage of the mild weather. Ocean Pond , NL, Canada

I plan to clean the ice and snow off of Rocky after a while, and get some wood moved from the barn to the house.
I am not enjoying this cold snap at all.

We've been having a really mild winter this year, which ordinarily I'd be happy about, but we're 20 years into a drought here and could really use some more snow. We finally got a dusting today, but it's not enough to make any real difference in our water situation.

PS: Newfoundland is someplace I'd love to go some day. My sister and her husband have been up there and NS a few times for caribou and moose and they have nothing but good things to say!

Ice fishing opens Feb 1st here. Not sure if things will be frozen up and safe enough. It's been a bit colder lately, I guess we will see over the next couple weeks

Awesome your sister made it up to these parts ! You will have to head out this way sometime! July, August and usually September are the best months for weather. As for hunting that depends on the area and game.

As a kid in Southern Michigan, back then you could drive your vehicle on the ice. The Tip-Up Festival was always on the the ice with a parking lot.

Anyway, I always saw these two old men push their boat out on the ice and ice fish from the boat.
