Head unit or radio mount...

I've been racking my head trying to figure out where to mount a radio on this thing. I didn't like the idea of messing up the dash anymore than it already is. Nor was mounting something low cost above really appealing in the event of it bonking me in the head while driving if it failed. Roughed this in today. It still needs to be finished.

Like the idea, cutting the ammo box to allow the seatbelts though looks good....

Added more pictures. I decided to go with these plastic enclosures vs the MDF. They sound worst but seemed like less of a pain to install. Rear of them looks messed up from my efforts to heat form them to the ridges on the wheel well. For retention of the can lid i was initially intending to use some latches but so far for city driving the friction fit of the lid has been sufficient. I saw the small bungees pictured at harbor freight and they seem like they might work fine.

Hi,

I copied your idea and installed me a ammo box console after your idea, thanks.... I don't want to install a radio but I wanted it to add a little extra storage space plus a "barrier" to help keep our dog from coming up front and getting under the gear shift. Thanks for the idea.....
