I had to dril a few holes so I could cut the dash for my switch panel. What the heck steel are they using, it’s really tough, even used my expensive cobalt bits I have for my gunsmithing work. It definitely is not mild steel.

Hahaha, I feel you pain when I cut the holes for my gauges, it is definitely solid metal. I had to use a punch to start the holes so they didn't jog across the dash.

tell me about it. I tried to use a spring center punch to get started, and it did not even dent the coating. Had to get a hammer punch out and really hit it hard. I guess the good thing is the steel surely is robust.
