Hey everyone,

Hypothetically speaking if I were to import the Mahindra Willy and Thar body into the states, how complex does one reasonably believe it would be to swap the body of the dreadful 2022 Roxors and up? For reference I'm talking about this body type. FYI they would have to be paint and primed by the customers.

******Thar body is right hand drive, and Willy body is left hand drive******

That Willys clone is pretty sweet. I have no idea how easily they'd be to swap, but I'm sure it could be done. Obviously, the right-hand drive Thar would be a different story, but everything under the sun has been converted or modified in the past and I'm sure it could be done as well.

The second picture from the Left looks very good.
I have read a build or two on here from years ago where the body was swapped out for a CJ Jeep body. Best that I remember they had to lengthen the tub to work on the Roxor frame.
Some skill and a shop would be required. This conversion took quite a while to complete from what I remember.
I have my doubts that the frame is the same as the Roxor on the Willys clone body you are looking at.
Most of the guys that were on here back in the 2018-2020 time frame seem to have faded away over the years. Some real time advice from some one who has done the swap would be helpful.

I don't have a big issue with the body on my 2024 Roxor? What is the point ? I am not the smartest?

Feedback I've been getting mostly has been that. I'll stick with brokering them lol

It would be neat, but the cost of importing Willys stuff may surpass the cost of buying a domestic kit unless you get a plethora. Also the wheelbase is a bit different.

The Thar would be neat as well. Make RHD units for Postal Workers!

I have considered doing both as I have 2 Roxors that are in need of new bodies, or at least new front ends plus some tub repair. If such a venture could be done economically enough to make for a reasonable resale, I would say try it. There may be a Willys clone over there that matches the wheel base, if so and there is full cab options I may be interested.

If your strictly using the body, does the difference in wheelbase still matter? I would not believe so

I guess I have not looked up overall tub length and position of wheel wells, but I assume there would be some differences there and matching to front end length/width...

I haven't considered a partial match to different body styles, previously I only researched a total conversion based on matching to wheel base. Definitely something I need to address once I get these 2 units mechanically restored, but overall a Thar should be damn near a direct match besides RHD.

Actually Thars are Left handed if you have a Loong Reeeach!!!

Anyway, KaiserWillys.com has access to many body tubs throughout the years. The problem is they do not have documentation on the measurements. You would need to do some research.

Even with the long reach I still can't find left handed thars lol. Please elaborate, I would love to find one already left handed

Don't forget about MD Juan in the Philippines where you can get just about any old school jeep body part and complete bodies freshly made. Probably a good market for a stretched CJ-2A or MB body dropped onto a Roxor frame, engine and drive train.

Easiest answer is to get the old style Roxor front clip from India. A hood and fenders and done. Might even be able to get away with a hood and then add the otr flat fenders as I believe you have to cut the factory fenders during install. not sure if anyone has done it but I believe it might be possible.

as far as Jeep bodies the Roxor is split in terms of wheelbase between a CJ7 and CJ6. If I was to do a jeep body I’d put a CJ6 body on then do the long travel kit up front and then completely redo the rear mounts to place the rear wheel in the appropriate spot for the 6 tub.

or you could always go full mullet and put an 80’s model camero body on the Roxor frame.

Interesting, that is where KaiserWillys gets their jeep bodies.

In theory the Cj6 is the most compatible?

Measurement wise the CJ7 is closer, 93.31 inches wide by 148.03 inches long. Per a Mahindra Engineer the Front steering setup of the Roxor is also more like a CJ7.
