I was looking at the IPB and they did not show a separate part number for the solenoid, just a part number for the complete starter, with solenoid.

I just tried the search in the parts catalog and it only brought up the fuse and relay for the solenoid.

I recently had the same issue and had my starter rebuilt. Meanwhile I ordered a new starter from India and have it available for sale if interested. Still in sealed box - never opened. $150 plus shipping.

It’s definitely your starter. I fought that on mine for months. Always acted real lazy like battery was dead, then got to the point where solenoid would kick out midway thru cranking making a really bad noise with flywheel. It was crazy how quick it started with new starter.

Wish I could. My Roxor and I live on a small island off the coast of Puerto Rico…no bridge, so shipping costs are outrageous to the main island. I can get parts shipped in, but Pep Boys and Autozone are out of reach
Any other way to test the starter? Thanks.

Never did buisness with them, but they look legit going by past ebay reviews

Thanks for all the responses. I installed a new starter from Sherwood Tractor. Cranked first hit of the key. Visual inspection of old starter looked normal, so leaning towards the solenoid being shot. i will test it and I’ll be on the lookout for a solenoid, if it tests bad. PITA to remove/install the starter for this old soldier.

Hey PR, I have looked for individual solenoids and have not found one. Possibly you could get the engineering numbers off yours and locate one that way. Mahindra does not show the solenoid as an individual part.

I don't know if this will help anybody or not, but I was having issues with my starter. The bendix was disengaging while cranking causing me to make 3-4 attempts to start it. I tested the battery and it tested good. I took the starter out, cleaned it and lubed it up making sure I cleaned all electrical connections and applied di-electric grease when reinstalling. I cleaned all grounds I could find including the one on the firewall near the battery. I didn't really find any obvious problems with anything I touched. Then I decided to disconnect the intake grid heater since we never get very cold where I live. After doing so, the starter sounds happy and she fires right up. Maybe I was cranking while the intake heater was heating and that was just too much of a load?? Anyway, I'll leave it disconnected and see how it goes.
