I must have deleted my original post by accident. I will do it again.
Reading posts about buying a new machine, you would believe the 2.7L is not going to perform well at all without a Tune. And "THE TUNE" has not been worked out so far.
My guess would be that the vast majority of 2.5L Machines in use today have Stock Engines without a Tune, and the owners are getting buy just fine without 120 HP available.
My Machine is a 2024 with the 2.7L, and the stock 5.38 Gears. It has a Fortress Top and Fortress Windshield. It has 235/85R-16 Tires. Per the Tire comparator that I looked at, the 32" Tall Tires gain 10% on the speed displayed. At 20 MPH it is running 22 MPH, at 30 MPH it is doing 33 MPH, Maxed Out at 45 MPH it should be very close to 50 MPH. CORRECTION: The Speed is Governed to 55 MPH. What I had read about 45 MPH was wrong.
I live in the Missouri Ozarks. I mainly drive on Trails, County Maintained Roads, and in a couple small Town's. Probably 95% of my driving is between 10 and 40 MPH. I get on a little State Highway between gravel roads. I have no problem getting up to 44 or 45 MPH on the Speedometer which corrects to right at 50 MPH. From what I read the Roxor is Speed Limited to 45 MPH. The Tall Tires let's you gain a little more speed for Highway driving. The 2.7L Engine does just fine driving as I described above.
The 5.38 Gears I am sure offsets the need for a Large Horse Power Increase. Unlike 3.73 geared machines, you are going to max out the RPM's at a way slower speed with 5.38's. "THE TUNE" bringing the Horse Power up to 120 HP is going to do a lot more for a 3.73 geared machine as you can bring the Speed Up without Buzzing the Engine Waaaay to hard highway driving.
I will probably get "THE TUNE" when someone works it out. Moving the Speed Limiter up a little would be good. Getting the Speedometer corrected would be good. More Power is always good as long as you are not breaking things.
IF the 2023/2024 2.7L Machines had 3.73 or 4.10 gears I would be all over "THE TUNE". The Power Increase to 120 HP would let you bring the Speed Up in a very meaningful way when not limited by the gearing.
With all that said, I am not losing any sleep not having a Tune on my 2.7L Engine. As I said above, the 2.7L runs just fine the way that I drive it. I will be doing my 300 mile Break-In Oil Change on it in the next few days. It seems like it keeps running a little better the more that I drive it.
Something I have not addressed is Diesel Smell. My 2.7L does not Smoke at all, and I virtually never detect any Diesel Smell. It burns very clean.
