I must have deleted my original post by accident. I will do it again.

Reading posts about buying a new machine, you would believe the 2.7L is not going to perform well at all without a Tune. And "THE TUNE" has not been worked out so far.

My guess would be that the vast majority of 2.5L Machines in use today have Stock Engines without a Tune, and the owners are getting buy just fine without 120 HP available.

My Machine is a 2024 with the 2.7L, and the stock 5.38 Gears. It has a Fortress Top and Fortress Windshield. It has 235/85R-16 Tires. Per the Tire comparator that I looked at, the 32" Tall Tires gain 10% on the speed displayed. At 20 MPH it is running 22 MPH, at 30 MPH it is doing 33 MPH, Maxed Out at 45 MPH it should be very close to 50 MPH. CORRECTION: The Speed is Governed to 55 MPH. What I had read about 45 MPH was wrong.

I live in the Missouri Ozarks. I mainly drive on Trails, County Maintained Roads, and in a couple small Town's. Probably 95% of my driving is between 10 and 40 MPH. I get on a little State Highway between gravel roads. I have no problem getting up to 44 or 45 MPH on the Speedometer which corrects to right at 50 MPH. From what I read the Roxor is Speed Limited to 45 MPH. The Tall Tires let's you gain a little more speed for Highway driving. The 2.7L Engine does just fine driving as I described above.

The 5.38 Gears I am sure offsets the need for a Large Horse Power Increase. Unlike 3.73 geared machines, you are going to max out the RPM's at a way slower speed with 5.38's. "THE TUNE" bringing the Horse Power up to 120 HP is going to do a lot more for a 3.73 geared machine as you can bring the Speed Up without Buzzing the Engine Waaaay to hard highway driving.

I will probably get "THE TUNE" when someone works it out. Moving the Speed Limiter up a little would be good. Getting the Speedometer corrected would be good. More Power is always good as long as you are not breaking things.

IF the 2023/2024 2.7L Machines had 3.73 or 4.10 gears I would be all over "THE TUNE". The Power Increase to 120 HP would let you bring the Speed Up in a very meaningful way when not limited by the gearing.

With all that said, I am not losing any sleep not having a Tune on my 2.7L Engine. As I said above, the 2.7L runs just fine the way that I drive it. I will be doing my 300 mile Break-In Oil Change on it in the next few days. It seems like it keeps running a little better the more that I drive it.

Something I have not addressed is Diesel Smell. My 2.7L does not Smoke at all, and I virtually never detect any Diesel Smell. It burns very clean.

The older Roxors maxed out at 55. That's weird they changed it. I was the same way with my 2020 I didn't need the tune. Wanted to keep it stock tune. Then I drove a tuned Rox and everything preformed wonderfully. Hitting that speed limiter sucked. Even with mine tuned I don't ever go above 50 but its far more responsive now. My roxor isnt for road use so i also removed the anti sway in the front to increase my flexibility. Shifting up it actually wants to go now. The tune improves more Than just the speed all the shift points are better as well. I went with the gilomen rune with is suffect for me. But like you said the tune for the newer models isn't great yet

My 2023 2.7l will hit 55mph with the stock tires. It will stay at 54mph going up a small incline. GPS speed matches the speedometer.

Lost One Wing I will need to verify the 45 MPH Max. I have read that it is Limited Out at both 45 MPH as well as 55 MPH. I just assumed the 55 MPH Limited Setting was for the older 2.5L, 3.73 Geared Roxor's. The next time I get on the Highway I will hold it down and see just how fast it will run.
On the One Blacktop I get on, the road is crooked as a snake, and I never get over 40 MPH.
Going to Houston I am on One Mile of Nice Straight Blacktop. Believing that it is Limited Out at 45 MPH, and knowing that it is doing almost 50 MPH when the Speedometer is on 45 MPH I have just ran Rocky through the gears and feathered the foot feed when I got up to 44 or 45 on the Speedometer.

CORRECTION: I held it down on the highway today, It will run 55 MPH. What I had read about it being Governed to 45 MPH was incorrect. At 55 MPH it is wound pretty tight. I am a lot more comfortable at 45 MPH on the speedometer.

Today the Church Service will be at the Sportsman's Club. We will have our monthly Breakfast, the Service, and then shoot Trap and Handguns. I will load up both my Trap Shotgun and my Glock 17 with plenty of 9mm for a nice day at the Range. This trip will take Rocky over 300 Miles on the Odometer. I will probably change the oil when I get Rocky home this afternoon.

That is exactly what we did on our first trip out with the Roxor.

I did the Break In Oil Change on Rocky this afternoon at 301.0 Miles on the Odometer.
The Mahindra Oil Filter used the same Filter Wrench as my 5.7 Hemi. That was handy.
I installed 7 Quarts of Rotella T6 5W40. The oil change was a piece of cake. Probably took me 10 Minutes taking my time letting it drain.

LostOneWing I ended up only shooting my Glock 17. I ran Five Magazines through it, and called it a day.

I was also wondering to find used or go new but decided to go with the 2024 and just wait for the tune.

I believe that I have my first Fuel Mileage Numbers. Looking like 25.78 MPG.
I added 10% to my Miles Driven to compensate for the 235/85R16 Tires. The larger diameter tires throw the Speedometer and Odometer off 10% per the Tire Adjuster Program.
I was expecting more, but 26 MPG is not all that bad. I had a couple hours crawling around on those miles also. Churning the Tall Aggressive Tread Tires probably cost a few Miles Per Gallon also, but worth it.

We tested my 2024 new unit stock prior to any modifications and it would do about 50 mph. They are going to work with their agent to understand why it is not doing 55. It ran good just max not as advertised.

Hello Gabe,

Just for info, I have a 2022 with the 2.5L. Mine ran good up to 50 and after that my MPH and RPM readings were erratic though it did go to 55. The interesting thing was I put that new backflow valve on and it smoothed out my MPH and RPMs at 55. The engine seemed to run a lot smoother at that speed also.

Its up to manufacturer to get the unit to spec. in my opinion. The dealer was very much surprised as they said most of them they test do get to 55. Its important with the new ones and the gear ratio to make sure it gets to its top end as not sure if or when they will have a tune for the 2.7 units. Even so the tune might not be able to get you that more with the current gear ratio.

I now have 709 Miles on Rocky. I have had it a little over a month.
It seems to just keep running a little better every week. It is lugging much better now than when I got it. It also seems to get up to speed quicker, and easier. I took Rocky up to 55 MPH on the Speedometer once with the 32" Tires. It got to 55 MPH on the speedometer, but the Engine RPS's are higher than I plan on running the Engine up to. I plan on Rocky lasting me a very long time. Buzzing the Engine up high for any length of time is not a really good way to have it last for ever.

Just my two cents, but I would get some TALL 235/85R16 Tires on it, and keep the speedometer UNDER 50 MPH. The Tall Tires will gain about 10% on your speed. So 50 MPH on the speedometer would be close to 55 MPH.
On Black Top Highway I stay between 40 and 45 MPH on the speedometer. I have no good reason to drive any faster than that.
