Was changing the oil in my 2019 Roxor today and was not paying attention and put a bit too much oil in, perhaps about 1/2 quart. What effects, if any, can this have on my Roxor. I have not driven it yet, just fired it up to fill the oil filter. Thanks

1/2 qt. Probably not much. If you way over fill it you could blow seals. I wouldn't worry about 1/2 qt, if you are. Just drain a little bit. It should take about 7.4 or 7.5 it's i believe, if I'm not mistaken

On a Turbo Diesel:

Consequences of overfilling your oil on a 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine:
  • Excess pressure in the engine and possible seal failures, especially the turbo seal.
  • Oil in the intake and engine run on followed by engine failure.
  • Oxygenation, oil aeration, and hydro lock.
  • Increased oil pressure and potential leaks.
  • Crankshaft damage if the oil level is significantly above the MAX mark.

The amount of overfill really determines what all is possible.

Ok I just finished removing the excess oil. Hopefully nobody will be so foolish as I to do this in the future, but if you happen to find yourself in this situation in the future, I have a few thoughts on this process:

1) Be extremely careful while unscrewing the drain plug, use both hands. If you happen to drop the drain plug in the oil catchment basin, then you'll loose all your oil.
2) It's quite tricky to re-thread the drain plug while oil is gushing all over your hands. There appears to be about a million ways to mis-thread the drain plug back in. And while you are trying to quickly re-thread the drain plug, it can be very challenging to find the correct angle to align the threads so that the drain plug while properly re-seat.
3) However don't worry, while all that oil is gushing by your hands while you're trying to re-seat the drain plug, you're actually not removing nearly as much oil as you think.
4) I had to do this process 7 times in order to remove what ended up being the excess quart that I had added. (Yes, yes I know I'm wasting money, I just threw out a quart of brand new synthetic! As a great man once told me PAY ATTENTION.)
5) While your fiddling with the drain plug, oil will be gushing all over your hands and partially down your arms, so it may exceed the edge of the oil catchment basin; plan accordingly.
6) Fire up the engine after you've removed some oil and then shut it down to take an oil measurement. This will give you a more accurate oil level reading.

Good luck.

Road Runner,

On filling the Roxor with oil, use a funnel on top, pour slowly, and Make sure you pull the oil dipstick out. Pulling the dipstick out will allow for a vent of the system and will allow you to not have your oil run all over your engine.

Remember what your mother said, pull out....your dip stick!

Also, because of the way the tappet cover is designed, you may need to modify your funnel. The oil fill opening is obstructed, at least on my 2022.
