Made some door toppers. Drove 45 mph with no issues. I have the OTR double thick doors. I also have a heater. Stayed warm in the cab. 38 outside and only half the back closed. (Next project is to finish the back).

Did 20m vinyl (Joanne’s fabric)

Grommets with zip ties around the top, front and 3 inches down in the back. Bottom hangs down below doors. Used commercial Velcro to attached to the door. Open like a curtain, step in, Velcro closed. Don’t forget to undo Velcro when getting out.

Cost $32

Yes thats the same stuff, one change I made was attaching the back,
Now I open from the front. I did one zip tie at the top and plastic coated wire tie at the bottom so when you get in you can tie the bottom. Works great.

Here is a couple pics, in the front I don’t use the grommet in the middle towards the top. Still stays tight with no air issues.

I would also suggest getting some heavy RV awning repair tap to line the inside and outside of the edges before you put the grommets in.

That's a great idea. I've been thinking of an inexpensive way to close the cab in just for the winter. This will do!

It's a good do it yourself job, and the price is right. I'm holding out to this summer to see if any aftermarket full cab enclosures come out. In the mean time I just throw a cover over my rig and drive it when the weather is dry.

I noticed you had reinforced the holes around the grommets with either more poly or what looked like black tape. Makes sense that tape all along the edge would hold up better. I was considering using snaps, but the velcro seems the better way to go. Not being sure if I want to take these off in the nice weather, I am considering velcro on the sides as well as the bottom. I don't have any place where I can get up to 45 mph, so the whipping wind won't be a factor. If I velcro the sides, I can roll them up in nice weather rather than remove the wire ties.

I did extra vinyl but made a couple to shallow. I pulled them out testing the strength. Then I did the tape. Holds up better, that’s why I suggested the heavy duty awning repair tape. Lesson learned!
