So following Roxasuras lead I replaced the upper nuts with cotter pins for easy disconnect. If your looking for more flex on trails I highly recommend. You could drive without on pavement but take corners even slower. Far more squirly without connected but doable if you ever had a CJ

Is the only reason to remove the sway bars for flex, or will it help on ruff trail riding.

More flex will help with trail riding. Otherwise it's pretty stiff in the front
