Did you figure out where to get the 2019 sand color paint? I’d like to get a can or two myself. Thanks!

I know that you can pick this up pretty cheap at Lowes, Home Depot and Sherman Williams. May be a simple answer to your problem.

I bought my Roxor used, and it was nearly flawless with the exception of a small scrape spot on the bottom of the drivers-side fender. I got it home, and some weather was getting ready to roll in, and I didn't want the exposed, bare metal to rust, so I looked in my garage and found a can of Flat Dark Earth (FDE) paint I'd used for doing a gun camo job and figured it would be close to the sand color paint on my Rox. So, I masked it off and painted the bare spot and it is an almost exact match. In fact, if you didn't know it was there, you'd never know it was just FDE Krylon. I circled the spot I painted and as you can see, it is damn close.

If you get a chip of the paint off the Roxor you can take it to an automotive store that mixes paint. These days they use the lasers to determine the tint. In the old days we had to come up with the color off a paint chart and tint the base paint by the weight of the tint. If you were a gram off in tint weight the body shop guys wanted to kill you. The lasers do everything as far as getting the exact tint and measuring it out.

Good to know. I thought any red was good enough. 😄

Also, remember, the base primer needs to be the same as on the vehicle because that will make the new outer paint appear lighter or darker than the stock look.

Also, your paint chip needs to be on the large side. Maybe best to drive the Roxor there if you can.

In the past I have had great success with paint name or better paint code from the VIN decal and taking that to a Sherwin Williams Automotive paint store. They were able to look up the color based on the paint code and VIN number or year and model and mix up a perfect batch that was dead on. But with a Roxor I don't know.
