Thinking of rhino lining the undercarriage or a product similar to rhino lining. Has anyone done this and if so are you happy with it and what was the cost roughly? Every pickup I’ve had has already had the at least the lined alread already so not sure about cost. Thanks

Great idea, not to insult anyone's intelligence, but I would just make sure you mask off and nuts, bolts, fittings, ECT.

Wouldn't suggest doing it in a garage. Mask the floor if you do

How long does it last? Does it eventually wear off

Removing cosmoline requires solvents or mechanical separation, ie scratching it off. In my experience with the stuff on a daily driver rock crawler, every other year it'll need to be reapplied. I have some caps that are exposed to the elements on the top side of the vehicle, they are bare mild steel and it took three years for them to develop surface rust after a single application. This past winter was the first time I've driven on salty roads in that vehicle and I'm not sure if that caused the cosmoline to come off or not. I do know it was still present, and there was little rust on those caps six months ago.

I never wash that vehicle either. I'm going to now though due to the salty road driving a few months ago.

If you have a compressor this is great. I did the bed of my truck in less than an hour after it was cleaned properly.

Living up north I am familiar with this stuff , can't say I'd use it again. If you spray it over any existing rust the rust will not stop. Plus it peels off easily. There are must better products out there IMO , we have have good luck with some wax based products, had it on my truck for 6+ years where they use salt and sand on the roads here in the winters and had no rust where it was applied.
