My roxor is exclusively used around the farm, and driving offroad I like to do as little damage as possible. Eventually I will be getting some larger and wider tires for better flotation, but until then I will share the improvement I got from deflating. And yes, I understand that this wont help my tire life, I can live with that.
For ease I only measured footprint on the front drivers tire, since the front will have the most weight. Just used a jack and some baby powder.
At the recommended 28, the front had 5 in of footprint. The back probably had less but we will stick with 5. I lowered my front to 20 and rear to 18. This gave pretty even tire squat around. At 20, I had 6.5 in of footprint. The math is in the photos, figuring 8 in wide tread pattern.
This has softened the ride noticeably, and should stop from cutting as deep of ruts. Almost a 25% reduction in psi.
