The Climax Offroad crew will be in Moab September13-18th

On September 14th I would like to gather as many Roxors as possible for a day on the famous Hells Revenge trail followed by gathering at the Moab bowling alley for food and fun.

I am sure between now and then we will fill a schedule with plenty to do all week. I just want to get dates out there for people to plan for.

September 17th will be long travel customer appreciation day and will be strictly limited to those with the Climax Long travel kit. You must have both front and rear lockers as well as chromoly front shafts. I highly suggest swapping out your selectable hubs for the factory non selectable hubs for this trail ride as selectable hubs are generally the first thing to fail. I will try to organize an alternate trail for those that do not join us on this trail day.

I’d suggest looking at hotels with ample parking for trailers. The Archway Inn is a popular one with plenty of trailer parking space. Call and verify before booking any hotel if they have trailer parking. AirBnB, Vrbo, or one of many of the campgrounds in town are all options. I will be near Spanish trail RV park.

For Airbnb‘s I like to message the hosts and inquire about trailer parking. For those with a large group there’s the Moab Offroad compound. It can sleep a large group and has trailer parking. I’ve never stayed there but the ads look promising.

for the last few years starting in 2015 I have been playing with a tw200 yamaha group. Folks from all over the nation come to play. I have taken my Roxor the last couple years along with a tw. As willow springs north of Moab has been built up and has vault toilets it has become very busy with campers. Last few years we moved a bit farther north to velecerapter st part. Now is pay to play and has showers along with toilets and trash bins.
This year I will be there last week of March as jeep week is the 1st of Apr and will stay for two weeks to enjoy the tw group also. As I haven't been out with the jeep crowd it should be a lot of fun. My suspension is stock except for 10x15 tires. Won't be doing any serious rock crawling but will enjoy most of the trails.

If I knew for sure I’d be able to make this one I’d be all in on splitting it with ya. I think we have the largest tow rigs here, the room to park them is nice.

If anyone needs a place to park a tow rig this guy was awesome to deal with. Moab Secure Trailer Parking RVs Indoor Outdoor Parking Moab Valley. Guys name was Don Hamilton. Was extremely helpful in trying to coordinate a shop to fix my ac on the truck. Unfortunately that shop dropped the ball so I took a few hours and fixed it myself behind the O’Reilly’s. In June I left my tow rig and another bobtail semi in his yard for about a week while we hit the trails. Nice facility. Wouldn’t hesitate to park them there again. Communication was awesome. And it was only $150 for my semi combo and the bobtail semi. Very affordable and it opened up lots of lodging options not having to have large vehicle parking availability. Ended up in a cabin just around the corner from his lot on the south end of town.

So ill be rolling through Moab the week before you guys go down..so while I have you guys on here. Thinking about Flat towing my Rox from Utah to AZ? Its street legal in Utah not not highway legal is that even possible? Was gonna trailer it but ran into an issue. Whats your thoughts on this

I have flat towed mine all around Colorado and Utah without trouble

If it’s a flat tow, I don’t know for sure, but I would think it would not be a problem if you have plates, like any other trailer

If you are going over maybe 100mi or so I would think about disconnecting the rear driveshaft

If you flat tow, you need to unlock the front hubs,
1st gear, transfer case neutral, check your transfer case oil level and tranny oil level, top them off

Did you install brakes. I may be over thinking all this but read that brakes needed on anything over 3000 lbs. My license plate is a RV plate so its a small one. Did you tow it on highways

I think My Roxor has a plaque/sticker thing on the dash that says it weighs 2990lb, pretty sure that is what it says,

No brakes, I use a ram Cummins, I don’t even notice it

I have towed it up and down I-70
Hwy 40 From Steamboat to Vernal, Ut
Up to Flaming Gorge 3x’s from Vail Colorado, 5hr each way

Vail to Silverton and back 5hrs

Vail to Billings MT & Back (that’s 8hrs each way) 640mi

Vail to Denver once or twice 100mi, drove around thru the City to get to the axle shop

Vail to Grand Junction 3x’s 120mi

Some short hauls

I don’t think anyone cares about an old man driving a pickup 5-10mph below the speed limit towing what appears to be some old leaf spring jeep w a little S Dakota plate
